Pomworldca's suggestion of a healthy diet for your Pomeranian Puppy
FEEDING: Most people only feed their Pomeranian's 2x's a day. But just like humans, smaller portions throughout the day allows the food ample time to digest and keep your Pomeranian puppy from over feeding.
You can leave dry food out to allow your Pomeranian puppy to eat when he or she is hungry. If you are unable to keep your Pomernian dog on a daily exercise routine, smaller portions throughout the day can help your dog keep his/her feeding habits in check. This is important because it will save you money in the long run from diseases that are caused by obesity. I also suggest a good vitamin that I give all my pomeranian puppies that are for sale. It only cost $20.00 for a three month supply for your pomeranian puppy that you got from Pomworldca. Nuvet Vitamins will keep your pom pup's coat healthy and them healthy.
MIX IT UP !!
Your Pom will get tired of the same old food, just like us. Chicken anyone? How about for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week? Since Pomeranian's don't eat a lot you can buy small portions, saving you money. In addition, you can afford to buy only the very best for your Pomeranian puppy.
Breakfast : Since dogs are omnivore's, which means they are meant to eat meat, veggies and fruits. I like to call it "the variety method" this the best way to keep your little Pomeranian eating at a healthy rate.
I've also found through 10 years of experience that they will begin to turn their nose up and only pick at their food when they're sick of the diet you are feeding them. So, MIX IT UP!!!
DO NOT BE DRAWN IN BY BIG NAME BRANDS THEY ARE USUALLY THE WORST! They are full of fillers and animal bi-products. They only seem good because they advertise EVERYWHERE while the little guys who really care about what goes into a Dogs Diet, do not have the same resources the corporations have. So, keep that in mind when choosing the best food for your Pomeranian puppy.
Snacks: Finely chopped cooked chicken, chicken broth and rice. This is highly suggested when your Pomeranian Puppy isn't feeling well for one reason or another. My Pomeranian, Jokers' Vet always recommended this whenever he wasn't feeling well. It will get them to eat, no problem and is easy on their little stomach.
If for some reason your dog is losing weight, take your puppy to the vet and get canned, high calorie, prescription food. You will see results and, at the same time, be able to verify that it isn't a parasite.
Water : Make sure you clean the dish several times a week since bacteria grows in water and keep the water fresh. Make sure it is available at all times.
Never feed your puppy chicken bones. Be sure you are cutting meat into very very fine pieces as Pomeranians Puppies can easily choke on larger pieces of meat.
